♥ YES! We All Are Simply Amazing! ♥

This week while being at the table of some high profile political people, My husband was asked the question of “Who are some of the most interesting people you have been able to work with?”  They expected to hear political names but he gave his “heroes” of the Gospel and an acknowledgment of what made them a hero in his eyes.

Later that night as I replaying the whole evening and the amazing event, I thought of how I would have answered that question. But the people who come to my mind first are the ones whose names probably no one would recognize. (more…)

Is it any wonder that we have a major problem with sex trafficking in America? We have a candidate that is using sex in his advertising and is totally demoralizing to women! Do we have to sexualize everything?  Even down to the office of the President of the United States?

This is not about being a Democrat or a Republican this is about standing up for the right of women.  Now we’re seeing an ad that wants young first-time voters to imagine that pulling the lever is like having sex with that candidate. What makes it even worse is that it is endorsed by his campaign! My first time ad is so disgusting!  Pro lifers respond to it. (more…)

I follow a blog,Genie, and this is a is re-blogged. She has some amazing posts!  I encourage everyone to follow her.  She is one of my favorite. This one reminded me of the verse: John 7:37-38 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. 38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

in a dry and arid land

i know where there’s water

in the scorching desert sand

i know where there’s water,

there is a secret place to go

where the living waters flow

to refresh a thirsting soul,

i know where there’s water

it stands high up on a hill,

where no one dares to kill.

sharing with all, they will

give without a hidden bill;

oh and what a joyous thrill

to no longer be spiritually ill

…come, and drink to the fill.

My heart wants to write a long blog post about the interesting day we had. It would be about 5 pages long and I would surely loose all my friends!  I think it would be best to just post this recipe!  Believe me you will thank me!!

It was my turn to fix a dessert dish for our Reformers Unanimous Meeting. Chocolate Chip-Pecan Pie Bars seemed like a perfect choice, for a dessert to go with some good strong coffee. One bite of these delicious treats sent everyone back for more. Success! Enjoy! (more…)

I found these Amish Home Remedies on the internet and just have to share them.  I had to laugh at some of them! Since my sister, Kelly has lived near the Amish for the last 25 years we always enjoy her Amish recipes.  (more…)

Responsibility!

We are drawing very close to the election 2012.  We’ve all received the 5×7 glossy cards on our door from candidates, the big flyers stuck on our windshield or obnoxious facebook posts.  My heart tells me this is one of the most important elections of our time.  Issues that strike the very core of a believer’s being are being impacted. For our family that would be their stand on abortion, whether they will stand behind Israel, and other general conservative issues.

There have been 12 Presidential elections that were decided by less than a 1% margin; meaning if less than 1% of the voters in certain states had changed their mind to the other candidate the outcome of the entire election would have been different.

I do believe that God will hold us responsible for the freedoms He has given us. Many countries do not have the privilege of voting like we do. Some countries are totally run by a dictator so they have no elections.

With the advertising across our TV and the internet it makes it difficult to know the truth about the candidate.  That’s why it is important to do your own research about them.

Think of Adolf Hitler and his rise to power after World War I.   Hitler had a great ability as a public speaker and it aided his rise in his political party. Germany was on the fringe of recovering from World War I, and their economy was terrible. Hitler promised the German people if he were elected he would turn their economy around. The people of Germany did not do much research on Hitler, or they would have learned that he was against the Jews, against democracy, and was for a dictatorship. He was elected into power and the rest is a sad history. If only the people would have done their homework, they probably would not have elected this evil man as their leader.

There are some areas that I take a stand on and they are very important to me.  I know both of the Presidential candidates stand on these issues. It is not about Republican or Democrat but it is about the candidates lining up with what you believe in.  It is important to vote.  That right may be taken away from us one day.

In Ky these use to be a common stable found on the table at every meal. Not so much anymore. :-(  I remember trying to teach my sister how to cook these fritters. It was such a disaster the first time. She ended up with either raw centers or burned edges…oh she was a toughie. They are wonderful discs of crispy fried onions and corny perfection! We actually use whatever onions we have at the time, green onions, vidalia, red onions, sweet…what ever is available! You can also finely chop up green/ red peppers or banana peppers/pepperonicini’s for variety. (more…)

You heard my cries again.
We talk often and You understand.
I do not.
I peer through a keyhole,
Focus on a tiny portion of a vast ever changing scene.
I can not see the entire picture
You can.
I will not lose hope. ~Jen
