“O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth.” ~ Psalm 96:1

Many times throughout Scripture we are urged to sing praises to the Lord.  If the Bible mentioned this only a few times, we may think it was a mere suggestion.  But a study in God’s Word shows us the importance of singing praises to the King.  Music brings an offering to the Savior that words cannot express.  I think it’s because music (from the depths of the heart and not for performance) reflects His beauty so delicately.

Music is a powerful tool when used correctly.  It brings drama to pictures.  It’s crescendos can lift spirits.  It can make you think of mountaintops and deep valleys.  It speaks to our hearts!

I wish more pastors would speak of the importance of singing in our day-to-day lives.  The Scripture is clear that we are to sing to the Lord and make melody in our hearts to Him.  Is there anyone more worthy of our praise?  Our salvation alone should cause us to create worshipful music to our Redeemer.  We are blessed in such countless ways.  How could words alone ever express our grateful hearts?  From the stars in heaven to the smallest of creatures ~ SING of His majesty!

Keep a song in your heart today!  ~ Kelly

A song can bless my heart like nothing else. It can say just what I wanted to say and just did not know how. I love this and it is soooo true. Thanks
